Mission:
Forward Motions Dance strives to empower and strengthen the community through the enrichment of our greatest resource; our youth. Using the elegance and discipline of dance; we continually challenge our students to never settle for mediocrity and push through all barriers set before them.
Goals:
-To provide a creative atmosphere that fosters confident, self-sufficient, and well-rounded young people.
-To break through cultural, economic, and social barriers using the universal language of dance.
-To be an outlet for artistic expression that develops burgeoning Dancers, Choreographers, and Administrators.
Meet Our Director
Erika Underwood Wilson is a native of Greensboro, NC. She has studied dance since the age of seven receiving instruction in Modern, Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, and Hip Hop. She furthered her dance training while attending North Carolina Central University and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Erika began her professional career in 1998 as a Freelance Choreographer and Dance Coach.
After taking a break to begin her family, Erika returned to her first love in 2005 as a Dance Instructor. She frequently serves as a judge for competitions and auditions and remains dedicated to staying abreast of the latest dance styles and techniques to ensure a well-rounded dance education for her students. Her passion is to help revive the arts in our communities and to aid today’s youth in expanding their creative interests. Mrs. Wilson resides locally with her husband and children and is the Founder and Artistic Director of Forward Motions Dance.
